About Lezzet Turkish Restaurant
Lezzet offers a diverse range of contemporary Turkish fare, set in the vibrant shopping strip on Brighton Street Elmwood, near St Kilda. Recently refurbished and expanding into the next door property it's now double its former size with a lovely alfresco area out the front.
Lezzet has a strong local following, and always has a steady stream of take-away and dine-in guests, a good sign of the quality of cuisine and service.
The points of difference include the alluring wood-fire oven clad stove which provides a delightful flavour to woodfired specialities including gourmet pizzas from only $9.00 and their fresh turkish breads. Lezzet tantalises diners with quality, freshness and attention to detail; packaged in a cosy and intimate setting.
It's a hard choice when you're offered such an eclectic menu and modern familiar Turkish fare such as dips, dolmades, lamb kebabs and baklava. Their aappetizers' include delights like Antipasto - Mezze (serves 2); A fine selection of Mediterranean cured meats & vegetables served with Turkish Salsa sauce & special cucumber dip or Dolma; seasoned rice wrapped with vine leaves then tossed with rocket, roasted red capsicum, lemon juice & complemented with a cucumber dip or the Mediterranean Dip platter - Ezmeler (serves 2); a selection of home made Mediterranean dips, with hot traditional Turkish bread.
For main meals a combination of succulent delights including their Ottoman lamb (Hunkar Begendi); slow cooked (4-5 Hours) to perfection in the wood fired oven offering succulent lamb pieces that will melt in the mouth, served with eggplant and bechamel sauce and finished with corn and green beans. Indulge in the grilled prawns(Karides Izgara); king tiger prawns seasoned with lemon pepper and zest, grilled and served on pilaf rice, finished with a light garlic cream sauce topped with Rocket leaves (Chilli optional); all meals are delectable and opulent. Delight in the Moroccan sticky date pudding as the perfect ending to a mouth-watering meal.
