Indian Palace in Brighton is locally famed as ‘one of the best Indian restaurants in Melbourne'. Owner Sarita and her staff go out of their way to make you feel like royalty, spoiling you with amazing service and modern Indian cuisine that is flavoursome, aromatic and rich. Intoxicate your senses in freshly ground spices and delicately applied chilli amounts to fill your mouth with flavour, not fire.
Restaurateur Sarita Rahal opened Indian Palace after the success of her sister restaurant in Sydney's Balmain, of the same name. Amazing flavours and spicing rescues the food from any blandness and moderating the chilli infusion ensures the aromatics shine through; whether it's the fragrance of cardamom ponds, cumin and coriander leaf or the acidic flavours of tamarind and lime, and the sweetness of mouth-watering coconut sauces.
Pickling lamb infused in aromatic scents of fennel seed, fenugreek, pureed onions and mustard seeds in a sumptuous yoghurt-based sauce, is an absolute must; their invigorating ‘Beef Vindaloo'(quite mild in its own way) is delicately laced with green chilli's to ignite the tastebuds. Revel in onion bhajis, tandoor prawns and the juicy baby lamb chops, drizzled in a zesty sauce.
Indian Palace's dining room is eye catching, minimalist and stylish. The white chairs, pressed white tablecloths, intimate lighting and understated décor offers a clean and chic feel; Indian decorations and abstract elephant artwork offer a striking edge, a welcome break from the white. Doors open up the entire front of the restaurant, allowing guests to dine alfresco on the pavement tables.
