About Rockpool Bar & Grill
Rockpool Bar & Grill is Rockpool's second label. The brand Rockpool stands for quality and integrity and Rockpool Bar and Grill will stand for exactly the same, only more accessible through an a la carte menu structure and a more varied price structure.
The restaurant will be a produce experience. To enter the restaurant, customers walk through the "Food Hall" and preparation area, to a bar with wine storage cabinets that store some of the world greatest wines at 14 degrees constantly. The food experience is a walk through dry store, hanging small goods and fresh vegetables, as well as looking into a fish filleting room with live crustaceans in 4 fish tanks. Next is the meat aging room with the butcher shop behind, all in view as you walk down the corridor. The bar is comfortable and has some banquet seating with leather inlayed tables, You can eat simple things, from the best burgers to great "crudo" or raw fish and drink lots of great wines by the glass. The bar is a place where you can wait comfortably for a table in the restaurant or have a quick meal - it's all up to you.
The centre piece of the dining room is a banqueted area that helps separate a fairly large room. The ceilings are 8 metres high, so the space is very impressive. The grill kitchen is open and houses a 2.5 meter wood fired grill. The whole kitchen area is surrounded by a massive beaten copper hood. There is a private dining room and a large balcony for outside dining.
This restaurant is all about the great steak or fresh fish that one is offered. Simplicity is king. The quality of the cooking is modern and faultless. The service revolves around the Rockpool philosophy of hospitality and generosity. It will be become known as one of the most impressive large spaces in Australia. The restaurant will fit 150 customers and there is sitting room for 50 in the bar.
