Tjanabi offers an indigenous‘Tastes of Australia' dining experience, amongst the modern architecture of Federation Square. Tjanabi @ Fed provides something for everyone: a bar serving a selection of quality Victorian wines; all day cafe; and a fine dining restaurant.
Tjanabi is an Australian Indigenous-style restaurant featuring original native produce including plants, fruits and berries, matched with quality Australian Game and fresh Victorian steaks.
The menu focuses on seasonal produce; introducing the great taste of Australian native produce fused with the freshness and flavours of Victoria's best regional produce. The team at Tjanabi designed the menu to reflect the traditional six seasons of Melbourne; each season brings with it a new bounty of seasonal produce - and a new journey cycle.
The menu has been designed around the use of native produce such as kangaroo, emu, crocodile, wild boar and seafood and also features tender Victorian steaks. Enjoy a glass of wine and a snack or something from their Tapas menu "Tapas Tukka".
The wine list boasts a magnificent selection of wines carefully chosen from the Victorian wineries. Wines chosen include wineries from Yarra Valley; Mornington Peninsula; Kangaroo Ground; Upper Goulburn and Western Victoria.
Tjanabi offers a relaxed atmosphere where you can appreciate the fine aboriginal artwork of one of Australia's leading Indigenous artists, Shane Pickett.
This venue most certainly offers a totally new dining experience and truly reflects the Australian culture not only in the food preparation but also in the décor and artwork.
In the language of the original inhabitants of Melbourne, Tjanabi means to celebrate and at Tjanabi we celebrate the spirit of this great city.
