The primary menu item is their tender steaks. At 1884 they only select beef that fits the M.S.A (Meat Standards Australia) & this team is very precise and particular; ensuring their steaks are cooked to absolute perfection!

1884 Restaurant, Wine & Steak Bar provides gourmet cuisine and the finest of Australian beef and regional wine in unique heritage surrounds. The restaurant was named as a testament to its architectural origins. As the namesake suggests, the heritage listed building was built in 1884 by Entrepreneur George Selth Coppin. 1884's classic decor was inspired by the building's stunning architecture.
1884 can cater for functions of up to 18 in our private dining room, or book the entire restaurant for groups of up to 80 people. With its central Melbourne city location on Little Bourke Street, and being right near Bourke Street / Spring Street train station, it's the perfect place for pre-theatre drinks, cocktail parties, breakfast, lunches, intimate dining and corporate occasions.
