Peter has developed a restaurant providing superior service and a menu that combines the best of Malaysian cuisine at very reasonable prices.
Penang Affair is famous for a range of GLUTEN FREE and VEGETARIAN options and most of the menu is GLUTEN FREE, providing customers with an abundance of options for celiacs, as well as a broad range of vegetarian options, cooked in true Malay style.
To enjoy Malay cuisine start with Lobak, a spicy chicken roll, wrapped in tofu skin, deep-fried and served with their special plum sauce. We suggest for a main course the Assam Ikan (Fish). The uniqueness of this dish is the use of a tamarind-based curry creating a delicate balance of hot sweet and sour taste experience.
From the mouth watering rendang daging (Beef) and Penang Sotong (Calamari) to the Gulai Malaysian curries with your choice of chicken, lamb, fish or prawns. And if its vegetarian you are after then try one of our vegetarian entrees, hot soups or seasonal vegetable curry.
Penang Affair has a good selection of daily specials to tempt your taste buds including the incredibly priced lunch special; comprising of an entrée and main, starting from only $13.50. Make sure you keep an eye on our specials board regularly to take advantage of our succulent boneless roast duck, quail and other house specialties.
To complement their menu Penang Affair has a fantastic range of beers from all over the world including Taiwan Rice Beer, Tiger Beer from Malaysia and Cave Creek Chili Beer from Mexico. The wine list is comprehensive and very well priced.
A range of cocktails are available and one of the most popular is "Jackie's Surprise" using vodka, and lychee liqueur as a base with fresh limes, chilli, lychees and cranberry juice.
