The Chef de cuisine at Beau Monde – The Restaurant, Tom Milligan has produced a Menu that will tempt your taste buds.
As an Entrée we suggest you try the Carpaccio of Aged Beef Sirloin, which is done with Artichoke Barigoule and a fine herb dressing. The mains are equally tempting, the Slow Roasted Duck Breast & Sweet Corn Pancake using a celeriac puree & miso sauce is typical of Tom's skill as a chef. Also his Char Grilled Porterhouse Steak is a classic, using Grilled Field Mushrooms; Asparagus & Béarnaise Sauce is a must.
Complementing the Menu is a quality wine list comprising some 75 wines. Ugo the Sommelier has produced a wine list to cater to all tastes. The wines are surprisingly well priced with a good selection of moderate priced offerings through to some excellent boutique wines. The 2007 Bay Of Fires Riesling is a well-priced wine, delicate pale straw with a tinge of green. Nose of crushed, dry lavender petals with a hint of citrus spice. There is a range of excellent red wines, in particular Shiraz. Two that come to mind are the 2003 Hartz Barn General Store Shiraz and the 2002 Redesdale Estate Shiraz from Heathcote.
The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and trained to maintain the service levels of this restaurant.
Beau Monde – The Restaurant is comfortable and elegant with soft lighting, quality fittings and tableware. Another pleasing feature is the restaurant is not cramped; seating arrangements are such that allow you to have a conversation without shouting above other patrons.
The style and elegance extend into Beau Monde's function facilities. Beau Monde International provides the perfect venue for a variety of social occasions, weddings, conferences and any special event. Offering three function rooms and our terrace garden catering for up to 200 guests.
The Banquet Room caters for intimate events up to 80 guest with the French doors providing access to landscaped private courtyard. The Skylight Room with glass atrium, is a freshly renovated function room; with dance floor, built in bar, and private courtyard this venue is an ideal setting for cocktail parties catering for up to 80 guests and dinners catering for up to 50 guests.
The Ballroom is our largest venue and caters for up to 180 dinner guests. This room is popular for dinner dances. Our restaurant is also available for groups of up to 20 guests.
The perfect complement to the excellent restaurant is the boutique accommodation that allows indulging in their wine list and enjoying their equally impressive accommodation. The hotel is also a great starting point for day trips to - The Yarra Valley, The Dandenong, Phillip Island and Melbourne's CBD. All the spacious rooms have been completely refurbished in a contemporary style, truly deserving of the 4 ½ Star Rating. Parking is available on the premises.
