When to Visit Melbourne
Melbourne is famous for providing the opportunity to experience four seasons in one day! However Melbourne is probably more distinctive in its seasons than any other region. Spring, between September – November, averages 9 - 19oC; Summer, between December – February, averages 13 - 25oC; Autumn, between March – May, averages 11 - 20oC; and Winter, between June – August, averages 6 - 14oC. The best time to visit is between November and April when days are typically brighter and sunnier.
Getting Around Melbourne
Melbourne Airport is located at Tullamarine, 22km north-west of the city and is accessible by car, taxi and the City to Airport bus (Skybus). Alternatively Avlon airport is located just 15 minutes from Geelong and just over 40 minutes from the Melbourne CBD. Getting around Melbourne is easy - the city is serviced by a variety of public and private transport options including train, trams, bus, and taxis. Driving is made easy by excellent roads and extensive highway/freeway networks. Melbourne signage is also usually pretty good, however the CBD and main roads leading to it can get heavily congested during peak times.
