Gold Coast Restaurant, Accommodation & Travel Highlights

About Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is arguably Australia's premier holiday destination. Extending for more than 40km from Paradise Point in the north to Coolangatta - Tweed Heads in the south. the Gold Coast is blessed with golden beaches, sweeping surf and a glorious climate. During peak holiday periods the tourist population swells from two to three times its normal size. To cope with this huge influx, the Gold Coast boasts an extraordinary number of accommodation establishments, restaurants, bars and tourist attractions. Some of the most popular areas are Surfers Paradise, Broad Beach and Burleigh Heads. The Gold Coast also earns its name as theme-park capital of Australia, with an abundance of themed attractions and four major parks. When you tire of the beaches and the pace of the coast line, head west and explore the magnificent scenery and diverse flora & fauna of the hinterland. Just 30 minutes drive from the beaches, its 260 kilometres of walking track & award-winning guesthouses beg discovery.

When to Visit Gold Coast

Casual clothing is recommended for most of the year although a jacket will come in handy on cooler winter nights. Winter hinterland conditions can be very cool and crisp.
