About Mariosarti
Established in 1995, Mariosarti is a regular's hangout for the consistently great regional food as well as the warm welcome and gracious hospitality and family friendly atmosphere.
Overlooking the passing parade of pedestrians, the terrace is a cool and airy spot for lunch, and inside, has a sophisticated, warm and charming feeling of comfort about it. With seemingly boundless energy and a quest to deliver Brisbane's diners the best of Italy's regional cuisine, owner operator John Sadleir and Swiss born Chef Daniel Steinger jointly boast over 50 years experience in the restaurant game and have worked in the Mariosarti team for the last 10 years.
Mariosarti's success is due to the talent, passion and discipline of Chef Daniel Steinger, offering consistency with the freshest seasonal ingredients.
In true Italian style, Daniel boasts an extensive specials board offering the best in seasonal produce in conjunction with delicious menu options including the Pollo farciti al Mascarpone e Aspragi Basilico: Corn-fed free range chicken breast, filled with spinach, pine-nuts, smoked mozzarella, peperonata & parmesan or the Vitello con Cappensante e Gamberetti: Pan-sealed, Northern Rivers veal medallions with fresh scallops, prawns, basil, brandy & cream.
The chefs here view cooking and food as integral expressions of Italian culture, vividly portraying the country's history and traditions. Like all arts, cookery is based on measures and proportions, on the balance and fusion of different elements. It blends ancient traditions with contemporary innovation and evolves constantly, even in the twenty-first century, as a result of its position at the centre of Italian family life.
John Sadleir's true passion is wine. Offering around sixty different wines from more than twenty districts such as Margaret River, Coonawarra, Barossa Valley, Mornington Peninsula, Tamar Valley, and the Granite Belt as well as Burgundy, Rhone Valley, Tuscany and Marlborough, to mention a few.
Mariosarti holds four Wine Degustation Dinners a year, inviting the wine makers to the restaurant to be with the guests.
