Cutta Cutta Caves are the Northern Territory’s only publicly accessible tropical limestone caves. Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park is located 30 km south of Katherine and covers 1499 hectares. Formed millions of years ago, these caves are found about 15 metres below the surface. Cutta Cutta Caves are home to a variety of native wildlife, including the brown tree snake and the rare orange horseshoe bat. The park is open year-round, but the caves are occasionally closed due to seasonal conditions.

Walks over the sandstone plateau range from an hour to 5 days offer spectacular views of the Gorge, as well as other landscapes and habitats. Some, like the 66 kilometre Jatbula Trail, take in most of Nitmiluk's habitats - monsoon rainforest, stone country, upland swamp, woodland and river – while the shorter walks may not be quite so varied, but are always spectacular.

The initial terminus of an uncompleted 19th Century transcontinental railway system, the Railway’s contribution to the development of the mining boom in the late 19th Century was profound, enabling companies to transport machinery and equipment for greater ease.

Cape Crawford is a remote stop situated at the northern extremity of the Abner Ranges. The Abner Ranges are home to the impressive towering sandstone formations, covering an area of approximately 8 square km, known as the Lost City. These amazing natural skyscrapers were formed over 1.4 billion years ago, fashioned by years of erosion by what was once an inland sea. Helicopter flights which land in the Lost City give access to 4WD tours of the area and its abundant natural attractions.
