Upon entering Costa Do Sol, Petersham, you are whisked into the enticingly vibrant & cultural delights of Portugal. Chef and owner, Joao & his partner, Maria, use their 25 years of vast experience to recreate an exotic blend of traditional Portuguese & continental flavours.

Experience the zesty & aromatic seafood platters, char-grilled lamb fillets or giant beef & chicken skewers. Make the most of exceptional blackboard specials, home made desserts, Portuguese wines, beers, sangria & live music.

Costa Do Sol opened in 1996. Chef and owner, Joao, hails from Braga and his partner, Maria, from Braganca in Northern Portugal. Joao learned his skills at an early age working in restaurants in Portugal. Maria helped in her family's restaurant in Lisbon, where she met Joao.

Many of the desserts are home made. It's hard to choose only one with a list that includes rice pudding, caramel pudding, baba de camelo, molotof and of course gelato.

The wine list has a good selection of both Portugese and Australian wines. There is also home made sangria. If you fancy a beer, why not try Portugese beers such as Sagres or Super Bock? The children may like to try the Portugese soft drink.

Approximately once a month there is an evening of live music. Check this website or call the restaurant for the next live performance.

The friendly atmosphere makes it a great place to bring along the family. The restaurant is large making it ideal for functions such as weddings, christenings and birthday parties.

Costa do sol has a charming ambience, with a scenic area at the front looking out over the vibrant streetscape of Petersham. The bright restaurant offers an intimate atmosphere with amazing, authentic artworks lining the walls including a hand painted picture of The River Douro from the north of Portugal and the Harbour of Porto.
