About Zakira Lebanese Cuisine

Chef and owner, Dany Youssef, is one of the tallest chefs in the business. His traditional, home-style, Lebanese cuisine also towers over many of his competitors.
Dany worked for 15 years in a number of restaurants and top hotels in the Tabarja and Broumanna regions of Lebanon. After working briefly on Sydney's North Shore, he has now brought his creative talent to Balmain. Along with his wife, Kaye, he has opened Zakira with the aim of providing true, traditional Lebanese cuisine.
Dany is a man of many talents. He plays the lute and paints. He brings this creative flair to his dishes. His dishes are works of art. The ingredients may stay the same, but each day brings a different masterpiece to the plate. His mother introduced him to the traditional dishes which he now sculpts into his own creations.
Try the Riz a Djaj. Chances are you'll come back again just for this amazing chicken dish served with home made yoghurt. If you enjoy your seafood, try the Samke Harrah, a grilled fish fillet topped with a chilli based tahini sauce and roasted pine nuts.
