About Rockpool
Neil Perry & Trish Richards formed a business partnership in 1989 and after considerable refurbishment opened the restaurant "Rockpool" at 107 George Street in the historic Rocks suburb of Sydney, Australia. Rockpool was the first fine dining restaurant to open up in the Rocks area.
Rockpool began as a fine dining restaurant serving high quality Australian produce with an Asian influence, the restaurant began predominantly serving seafood and the style of cooking has remained along the same lines however the dishes have become more sophisticated with time.
Chef Neil Perry has spent thirty years in the restaurant industry creating and running many restaurants, but the last sixteen years creating Rockpool, one of Australia's and the world's premier restaurants, it has won every award locally possible and many international awards. The restaurant continues to win awards as time goes by which the team at Rockpool attribute to their motto's that "the cornerstone of good cooking is to source the finest produce" and "we set out to do everything to the best of our ability today, then try even harder tomorrow".
Rockpool's a la carte menu has been updated with a choice between a five-course set menu or the continually evolving degustation, which is now a 10 course meal with hors d'oeuvres and coffee and sweets. The degustation furthers the idea of dining as an experience, and not just a meal. Coupled with this is the introduction of a twelve seat 'Chef's Table' dining experience with a set menu of 13 courses, plus hors d'oeuvres to start and coffee and sweets to finish. Neil Perry's Rockpool Restaurant is world renowned, and with good cause.
